| As in past events, Louisiana Friday Night 2010 was again dedicated to the memory of Toney Arrington, father of Aneurysm Outreach President, Sheila Arrington, and Tony Sewell, father of Heather Sewell Day, The Red Cake Special Event & Party Planning owner and Aneurysm Outreach Inc. Board Member. Both men died from a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm. Jim Engster, president of the Louisiana Radio Network, which provides news coverage to 80 affiliate stations, and president of Tiger Rag, “the Bible of LSU Sports”, as well as host of “The Jim Engster Show” on WRKF was Master of Ceremonies for this exciting evening at the Varsity Theatre in Baton Rouge on August 14th. The event was adjusted to include a Louisiana style meal (seafood gumbo and pork and sausage pastalya) for all attendees. This year's silent auction was well attended and included 162 items. Music for listening and/or dancing pleasure was provided by Michael Foster Project and Mike Hurst and Cut Point Zydeco. Sheila Arrington, and Ryan Grob were the primary organizers for Louisiana Saturday Night 2010. Medtronic Cardiovascular, and Volks Constructors were Silver sponsors. W. L. Gore was a Platinum Plus sponsor. Bronze sponsors included Albemarle Corporation, Boo Grigsby Foundation, CVT Surgical Center, EATEL, Lake After Hours, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Total Vein Care, and Vascular Clinic. Other sponsors included The Advocate, C. F. Industries, The Chimes, Louisiana Radio Network, Michael Foster Project, Mike Hurst & Cut Point Zydeco, Moran Printing, New Country 100.7 FM, The Tiger, Otey White & Associates, and The Varsity Theatre. Proceeds will be used to assist in providing future screening programs as well as meeting operational needs. |
