Louisiana Saturday Night Fundraiser
Deemed Huge Success

Supporters of Aneurysm Outreach Inc., a local organization dedicated to eradicating aneurysms and to hosting free quarterly community abdominal aortic aneurysm ultrasound screenings in the Baton Rouge area, gathered August 9 at the Varsity Theatre for "Louisiana Saturday Night".

The event featured a south Louisiana dinner, live music, dancing, a raffle and a silent auction of items including weekend getaways, local artwork and autographed NFL jerseys. Scott Rogers, television and radio host and columnist, served as master of ceremonies.

Guests enjoyed a traditional menu of jambalaya and red beans and rice as they were entertained by Captain Legendary and Boudin Cajun Band.

Major organizers of the event were Heather Sewell Day, who lost her father in January to a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm; Jessica Ketcham, an LSU student who lost here 13-year-old sister two years ago to a ruptured brain aneurysm; and Sheila Arrington, founder and president of Aneurysm Outreach Inc., who lost her father to an abdominal aortic aneurysm and has had numerous family members affect by abdominal aortic aneurysms.

Assisting were board members Dr. P. Michael Davis, Dr. Jimmy Guidry, Leo G. Abel, Rep. John C. “Juba” Diez, Don Grady, Terri Holloway, Roberta Madden, Homer Dyess, Louise Long, Jeffrey Purpera, Winston Riddick and Patricia Riddick.
