I Wish We Had Known

On June 9, 2002, my father, Hollis Sullivan, died during emergency surgery at Emory University hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was rushed by a Life flight helicopter from a family reunion due to an undiagnosed aortic dissection. My mother, my two sisters, myself, as well as a son-in-law & 2 grandsons were in the waiting room when he failed to survive the 6 1/2 hour surgery. He was 66 years old. The suddenness of this event still seems unreal. I wish we had known. He left behind his 91 year old mother, a wife, 3 children, and 6 grandchildren.

Because of losing my father, I am now educating others as an Aneurysm Outreach Inc. (AOI) volunteer.
